Our cooking classes are taught by metro area chefs. All classes are observational and like "Dinner and a Show"! You will get to eat everything that's prepared and receive written recipes and get to interact with the chef. You also get a storewide 10% discount (excluding gift cards and super savers). You may bring any beverage of your choice, we will provide bottled water and also have wine glasses and openers.
Inclement Weather Cancellation Policy
The international pantry reserves the right to cancel any class that fails to attract sufficient enrollment, chef illness/emergency, or inclement weather. We will contact you by the telephone number you provided when you signed up and issue a full refund or be transferred to another class of your choice if available. Our intention is to not endanger you, our chef, or our staff, so we will take all factors into consideration when making the decision.
Please understand that we are a business; if the class is not cancelled, we will not issue a refund.
If you choose to miss a class due to weather-related concerns, our standard cancellation policy applies.
Standard Cancellation Policy
You must call by the Thursday prior to the class by 5p.m. in order not to be charged.
We will charge your credit card or redeem your gift certificate at 5 p.m. the Thursday before your observation class. After the cancellation policy, your class becomes NON-REFUNDABLE. If you are signing up friends for the classes, please note that we will charge your card for all the spaces being held under your credit card number. It is your responsibility, if you do not want your card to be charged for all spaces under your name, for you to have your friends call us with their credit card information.
The international pantry reserves the right to charge your card for spaces reserved under your card number.
*On the night of your class, each person signed up will have a sticky note with their name on it at their assigned seat. If you have a seating preference, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Please do not move your assigned seat.
If you would like a different seat the night of the class, please ask for assistance.
Classes fill up very quickly so call promptly to reserve your spot.
You MUST call the store at (405)360-0765 between 10am and 6pm Monday thru Friday and Saturday 10am to 5pm to enroll.

Thursday, May 26th - Klaudya Barcenas - Klaudya will prepare Ceviche with Corn Chips, 3 Sauce Mexican Chicken Enchiladas with Rice and Refried Beans and Mini Churro Bowls with Sea Salt Caramel Gelato!

Amber Hetz - Amber is a new Chef who is passionate about sustainable local ingredients! She will prepare a Country Loaf baked with local soft wheat along with a Salad of fresh picked Baby & Micro Greens, Fresh Berries, and Local Cheddar Curds served with a hand-mixed Vinaigrette. For the main course, she will prepare a Sweet & Smoky Pork Belly topped with Native Pecan Dust and Green Flat Hot Chicken breaded and fried smothered in a Serrano Sauce and served with Marinated Pickle and Classic Dill Based Ranch! For Dessert Amber will serve Local Peach Puff Pastry with Basil Balsamic Ice.
Monday, June 6th - Josh Valentine - Josh will prepare Cauliflower Soup with Spring Bean Chow Chow, Pan Roasted Trout Fillet with Herbed Spaetzle and Spring Vegetables. For dessert Josh will make Strawberry Shortcake with Sorghum Whipped Cream.
Luke Fry - Luke is a native to the state of Oklahoma. Born and raised in Norman, he had a strong fondness for all things art. Son of an artist, Luke always excelled in these areas. After high school he left Oklahoma for the bright lights and windy corridors of Chicago, where he attended the cooking and hospitality of Chicago - Le Cordon Bleu. After some time his heart grew weary for his home state, on his return he started work in the central Oklahoma area of restaurants. He has been working hard making a name for himself as a seasoned chef in central Oklahoma ever since. Starting at Legends fresh out of culinary school, then Nonna's. Eventually he landed at Good Egg Dining Group, opening Republic Gastro Pub, and Kitchen 324. After a brief hiatus, he is now experiencing his triumphant return to the restaurant industry through the powerhouse that is Scratch Kitchen!
Bill Forster - Bill is one of our long time guest chefs! He is currently the private chef for Aleksej Pokusevski (#17 of OKC Thunder) and also doing catering and private cooking lessons
Gerry Reardon - Gerry and Jennifer Reardon previously were the managing partners for El Toro Chino here in Norman. Gerry is now the Chef and director of operations for The Wedge holding group which owns both Wedge Pizzerias, The Drum Room and The Mantel. Jennifer now works for Bridges of Norman empowering High School students who live alone to succeed.
Klaudya Barcenas - Attended the Pizza and Culinary Academy in Chicago last Spring and is now working at Rendezvous Pizza in Downtown OKC. She loves to teach authentic Mexican Dishes to keep her grounded!
Josh Valentine - Josh is now the Executive Chef at Milo Restaurant at The Ellison Hotel in OKC.
Amber Hetz - Amber is a fresh transplant from FarNorth California. Amber brings almost 30 years experience in sustainability, creating community, and wellness through Real Food. She is also a trained Herbalist. Amber raises her own poultry and produce and has been involved with managing community gardens and showcasing local ingredients in an effort to bring health and deliciousness to everyone!
