Meet Waseem Ahmed Chef and Co-Owner of Kebabish Bites!
I met Waseem in person a couple of weeks ago and I feel like I’ve known him for years. He is one of the nicest men I’ve ever met, and he can Cook!
Waseem has been impressing local chefs and food critics like Kurt Fleischfresser, Dave Cathey, Robert Black, and Chef Jason Jones with his fantastic food and beautiful inviting restaurant.
Chef Fleischfresser said, “A lot of people use the palate of Waseem’s family recipes, but the way they layer the flavors and the effort they put into everything is clearly reflected in its quality.”
James Beard award winner Chef Robert Black was impressed with how Waseem can capture the essence of his culture and said, “This kid is going to make it, he has the skills, the knowledge of his culture and the passion on the plate.”
Chef Waseem has been working hard getting to know our community by presenting cooking demonstrations at the Public Library, Hope Community Center, Chats With Cops, and of course teaching classes at The International Pantry!
The majority of the foods you will find Waseem creating comes from his family heritage. Waseem has taken them to the next level getting inspiration from the places he’s worked and the chefs he has worked with to create the best food.
Waseem is one of our newest Chefs in our cooking class schedule and will bring the warm spices and delicious foods of Pakistani and Indian food into the International Pantry for everyone to enjoy….along with his warm and inviting personality!
